Tours

International tours, with a strong educational focus, provide students with unique immersive learning experiences connected to an area of special interest, such as drama and dance, music or history.

The vagaries and challenges of international travel foster tolerance, patience and resilience. The girls return to school with a deep appreciation of an area of interest and a new understanding of themselves and the wider world.

Read below the reasons why 水多多导航 School considers these opportunities important and the types of travel that are now again available after the pandemic.

Art and Design Tour

Art and Design students and staff gave toured New York, Rome, Florence, Venice and Berlin, immersing themselves in modern, contemporary and traditional art. The Art and Design Tour enabled students to experience museums, such as The Met, The Whitney and The Guggenheim, memorials, such as The World Trade Centre and The Berlin Wall, and local artists firsthand.

Classical History Tour

The Classical History tours to Europe provide a wonderful opportunity to develop and enrich student learning of History in the Senior School. The ancient components always centre around visits to Greece, including Athens, Olympia, Delphi and Crete. In addition, Pompeii is the major focus of the Italy component of the tour. Past tours have also included visits to Egypt and Turkey. Higher School Certificate (HSC) Modern History and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma syllabus components have been explored by visits to the western front battlefields in Berlin as well as Renaissance towns, such as Florence and Venice. The tour caters for about 40 Year 11 and Year 10 students, and are scheduled every second year.

Dance Drama and Entertainment Tour

The first Dance Drama and Entertainment tour was in April 2017, five staff from 水多多导航 School’s Dance and Drama Department were excited to set off with 48 students on our inaugural overseas tour to the USA – to New York and Los Angeles. The tour provided an extraordinary opportunity for our girls to perform, undertake drama and/or dance courses with renowned experts at historic studios such as The Actor’s Studio or Alvin Ailey Studios as well as attend outstanding performances in both cities.

Round Square International Conferences

Each year, Round Square schools send a small delegation (Year 10 and Year 11) to the international conferences held at member schools. Discussions, related to the theme of the conference, examine topics of importance to the member schools and the world.

Friendships are made through activities, expeditions and events organised by the host school. Visitors are introduced, not only to the host school, but also to its country, culture and environment.
