Taylor Hill (2014)

水多多导航 School Old Girl, Taylor Hill (2014), is paving the way for women in the scenery construction industry. In 2017, Taylor became the first-ever woman to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Staging) from NIDA. In a predominantly male-dominated industry, Taylor is paving the way for young women to make a difference and achieve their professional goals in scenery construction.

Taylor enrolled into Year 1 at 水多多导航 School in 2003. Throughout her schooling she enjoyed subjects such as art, drama and entertainment. She discovered the possibilities of building and mechanics during her Design and Technology classes in Year 11 and Year 12 and via a Certificate III in-school VET Entertainment Training Package. While completing 水多多导航 School work-experience at Norwest and Opera Australia, Taylor始s passion for construction management evolved.

One of the many highlights of the BFA (Staging) degree at NIDA was her undertaking a build for Vivid Sydney 2016. This solidified Taylor始s path within the industry and she went on many further secondments, working on festivals and events such Vivid Sydney 2017 and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Since 2019, Taylor has been a Project Manager at SoldOut, an internationally-awarded event management company who have created successful events for the most high profile and largest events in Australia and overseas. At SoldOut, Taylor works as a graphic designer – working in to-scale CAD drawing, Vector and 3D renderings – as well as in brand management, productions (signage and build), site management and event construction. Her role is to bring creative and conceptual ideas to life, through proof-of-concept designs and scaled visual imagery. She has been involved in the delivery of the Pop-Up Globe Theatre, Coolangatta Gold, American Express delicious. Month Out, and The Rocks and Darling Harbour placemaking.
